Shipping policy

Our organization is operated by a team of volunteers and unless otherwise noted on the website, we aim to fulfill orders within 4 business days.

For orders over $200, shipping is free, or $10 otherwise.

Express shipping option is available for $25 for most items, except for certain large items like masks by the case.

  • Shipping carriers: We use ChitChats and Canada Post, and will depend on which volunteer/location is fulfilling your order.

  • Standard shipping transit time: normally 3-9 business days.  See estimate on checkout.

  • Express shipping transit time: 1-2 business days.

Small items, when purchased alone, may be shipped by Canada Post Lettermail at no cost if selected during checkout.

  • Lettermail:  2-5 business days. This option does NOT have tracking and the store is not responsible for undelivered packages.

Failed Deliveries

For orders which are returned to us due to i) a customer entered an incorrect or invalid address, ii) customer failed to find or use pickup notice, iii) customer home was not accessible or safe for a package drop, or iv) a delivery service could not otherwise deliver, we will charge the customer the actual cost of the outbound parcel freight, plus the cost of any applicable return parcel freight, plus the cost of freight on a replacement parcel shipment to the customer.

Neither shipper nor merchant are responsible for parcels stolen or misplaced after reaching a customer's premises, and we do not provide replacement product(s) or refunds in these situations.

If for a reason outside of the customer’s control, they are not able to receive their order (such as due to a hospital admission) please email us at contact@evidencebased.ca.

Damaged Deliveries

If your order arrives damaged, please retain the packaging materials and email us photos within 24 hours of the damaged packaging and damaged product so that we may address the issue with our shipping partner.

Pickups

We don't normally offer the option for order pickup, but we might be able to accommodate it in certain situations where there is a particular rush.  If this is the case for you, please contact us by chat or email and we will see what we can do.  Please note that there will still be a fee between $10-25 depending on what our volunteers need to do on our end to arrange this.
